Designer Catherine Makin has been working with Hybrid young people on up-cycling clothing and customisation. “Being able to create your own identity helps with boosting confidence and also helps developing skills that can be used any time, on all kinds of garments. It also helps to create new looks on a budget.”
Talented young musician runs local acoustic night
On Friday 2nd December, Hybrid Arts held a successful youth acoustic night organised by one of our Re@ctiv8 students, Cydney Busby.
New Arts Award Centre
Hybrid Arts have just become a registered Arts Award Centre. The Arts Award aspires to support any young person to enjoy the arts and develop creative leadership skills, offered at levels 1, 2 and 3 on the Qualifications and Credit Framework.
Stanley’s impressive photo manipulation
Stanley, one of our students on the Year 10 Re@ctiv8 programme, has vectorised this photograph in Adobe Photoshop as part of his Interactive Media training.
Vector images retain their crisp edges at any enlargement. You can draw vector shapes and paths in images and add vector masks to control what is shown in an image.
Self Portraits
This week the students on our Re@ctiv8 programme have been busy creating self-portraits using Illustrator.
The group have been working with new Hybrid trainer, Gurjeet Thandi. Thandi is a talented web artist with a background in graphic design, working for various organisations within the West Midlands creative industries.
