Re@ctiv8 Yr 11’s produce music video

A group of Year 11 students on the Re@ctiv8 programme at Hybrid Arts have been working with artist, Jack Harwood, to produce a music video.

Harwood volunteered with Hybrid Arts whilst taking a gap year between his second and third year at Staffordshire University, studying Music Technology & Film Production. He worked closely with the Year 11s to support and build upon the skills they have been learning in music technology and interactive media at Hybrid Arts. The students had previously written and recorded a song with Hybrid Arts trainer and musician, Dave Thomson. After some story-boarding sessions, Harwood and the students went out on location to the new North Leamington School site to record the music video.

Harwood has been expanding his creative portfolio ready for his return to University in September 2010. By working with the staff at Hybrid Arts he was able to maintain a focus in his subject area, whilst utilising his passion for music technology and film to advance the development of young people. As a musician, DJ, VJ, filmmaker and editor, Harwood has many strings to his bow and was a great asset to Hybrid Arts. He is looking to pursue a career in sound, foley and music for video production, and we hope to collaborate with him again in the future.
