Creative Training

Hybrid Arts create bespoke vocational training opportunities underpinned by creative technology – enriching lives through the experience of self-expression. We provide a space for creative opportunities which work with the school system, simulated work environment and the adult market. By bringing artists and creative technology together in a dedicated space, we foster confidence and engagement for people to make cultural products and succeed.

Hybrid Arts have driven policy, research and practice by commissioning artists to engage and educate young people aged 14 – 19 who do not fit into school structures. After 6 years of being at the forefront of innovate educational practice combining creativity with vocational learning, we are starting to witness the educational landscape in this country shifting – the opportunity to make real change happen is now. We believe the key is creativity.

Building on our wealth of experience, Hybrid Arts are now perfectly placed to develop our core value of building cultural and social capital through innovative arts practice. We have demonstrated the success of leading with creative practitioners – we now wish to expand this model to bring in more artists, broadening our practice to foster a more sustained creative diversity.

We are inspired by the thinking of creativity expert Sir Ken Robinson. Robinson challenges the way we are educating our children, championing a radical rethink of our school systems – envisioning a system that cultivates creativity and acknowledges multiple types of intelligence. Robinson led the British government’s 1998 advisory committee on creative and cultural education – a massive inquiry into the significance of creativity in the educational system and the economy.
